The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 40,496 new cases of coronavirus across the state this past weekend Friday through Sunday with 166 total deaths. Saturday there were 12,438 cases-the highest one day case total since the pandemic began. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 12 county residents who tested positive Saturday. The cases are unrelated and all individuals are under home quarantine with contact tracing underway. There have now been unofficially 472 positive cases in the county through Saturday. 2 people are currently hospitalized. The IDPH reports 487,987 cases overall across the state since the pandemic began with 10,196 deaths. The Indiana State Department of Health reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday in Knox County to raise the county total to 1,146.
