Barbara Ann Talley, age 66 of Bridgeport, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at home surrounded by family, after batteling a long illness with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on September 8, 1954 in Lawrenceville to Rae (Clements) Murphy and Richard Davis.
On March 12, 1987 she married Richard E. Talley, he survives.
Barbara was prom queen her Junior year, and graduated Bridgeport Township High School in 1972. She was a homemaker to her family, worked as a secretary for the law offices of Gosnell, Benecki, & Borden, and at Rucker’s Candy. She was a member of American Legion post #62 of Bridgeport.
Before her illness took over, Barbara enjoyed being in the sunshine. She loved swimming, fishing, camping and working in her yard and flower beds. She also loved travelling with her husband Richard in his semi, exploring the countryside and handling the bookwork.
Barbara is survived by: a daughter- Stacy (Ronnie) Williams of Elizabethtown, IL: husband- Richard Talley of Bridgeport, IL: mother- Rae (Jim) Murphy of Bridgeport IL: father- Richard (Linda) Davis of Bridgeport, IL: sister- Janet (Lyman) Wirth of Bridgeport, IL: brother- Rick (Bobbi) Davis of Newburgh, IN: sister- Judy (Tim) Torok of Richland Hills, TX: grandson- Curtis (Shania) Thacker of Bridgeport, IL: two great-grandchildren- Eastyn and Vidalia Thacker also of Bridgeport, IL: and a stepdaughter- Pamela Talley of Hooks, TX.
As per Barbara’s wishes, cremation will take place. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is assisting the family at this time.
