Halloween is just around the corner-it is this Saturday, the 31st. Usually this means trick-or-treating, fall parties and lots of candy and treats for children and their families. But this year is different due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Medical and safety experts say that Halloween activities in Lawrence County and the surrounding area need to be adapted to follow guidelines to protect those who are most vulnerable and slow the spread of the disease. The Illinois Department of Public Health has Halloween guidance tips and information available on their state website for concerned parents, guardians and relatives. Here are the local trick-or-treat hours-Vincennes Friday the 30th and Saturday the 31st (5 till 8 p.m. Eastern), Lawrenceville and St Francisville Saturday the 31st (5 till 8 p.m. Central) and Bridgeport and Sumner Saturday the 31st (6 till 8 p.m. Central).
