The Lawrence Unit 20 Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday and were updated on remote learning in the district. Superintendent Doug Daugherty indicated that there were around 400 students total learning remotely in the first semester with 300 of those returning in the second semester. He said there were some problems early on with such things as Internet connectivity and computer availability but those have been worked through and the process is running more smoothly. Students will have another opportunity to return for in-class learning in January for the third quarter. Daugherty added that school board election petitions will be available for anyone wishing to run. They must be circulated and returned December 14th through the 21st. There are 3 seats up for election.
