The St Francisville City Council dealt with a number of items during their regular monthly session Wednesday night. They heard from the Civic Improvement Corporation on improvements made by the group on the city ballpark and concession stand and indicated they are looking to do more in cooperation with the city. It was announced that a second open WiFi connection has been installed near the city shop which will assist with student remote learning. Petitions for the city municipal elections in April of 2021 are now available from City Clerk Terri Wease. Positions up for election are Mayor, City Clerk, City Treasurer and 3 alderman seats. The petitions must be returned to Wease by December 21st. Police Chief Billy Darnell announced that the annual Haunted Trails Halloween fundraiser for the Shop With A Cop program has been cancelled for 2020 due to COVID-19 regulations and concerns. Trick-or-Treat hours were also set by the council for Halloween October 31st from 5 until 8 p.m. Children should only visit homes with their porch lights on.
