Crawford County has joined Jasper County in southeastern Illinois in implementing a burn ban till further notice. The announcement made Wednesday by the Crawford County Sheriffs Department. The ban prohibits all outdoor burning except for small contained recreational and cooking fires due to the extremely dry conditions across the area.
