The City of Bridgeport will be making some new equipment purchases for it’s departments in the future. Mayor Michael Crask reported to the city council Tuesday night that additional monies are now available through various grants to buy a new city service truck and a mini-excavator and they approved moving forward. The council received the 2020 Fiscal Year audit from Kemper CPA. Also adopted was a resolution authorizing the refinancing of the city bonds for it’s water and sewer systems which will allow the saving of money. Leaf pickup is expected to begin across the city next week commencing on Monday October 19th. Trick or treat hours were also set for Halloween Saturday October 31st from 6 until 8 p.m. After a 10 minute executive session, the council emerged and approved the hiring of Tammy Doyle of Bridgeport as the new part-time water clerk for the city. She will begin her new duties on Monday October 19th.
