A Wabash County man was killed Wednesday in a two vehicle accident in Richland County. The Illinois State Police report that the fatal collision occured around 5:50 a.m. on U.S. 50 west of the Prairieton Road about 6 miles east of Olney. A 2001 Nissan being driven by 28 year old Richard Reed the 3rd of Mt Carmel was traveling east when it veered across the center line and collided headon with a 2009 Volvo Truck Tractor traveling west and being driven by 70 year old Raymond Kemp of Montgomery Indiana. The impact drove both vehicles off the southside of the road where they came to rest in a grass ditch. Reed died in the collision. Kemp was not injured.
