The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 1,617 new confirmed cases of coronavirus Tuesday across the state with 32 new deaths. One of those death was in neighboring Richland County-a male in his 80s. The Lawrence County Health Department was notified Tuesday of one Lawrence County resident-a female in her 40s who tested positive for COVID-19. She is currently under home quarantine with contact tracing being done. With the new case, the latest LCHD figures show 273 positive cases with 16 of those active. 1 person is hospitalized while 250 have recovered and there have been 7 deaths. Overall, since the pandemic began, there have been 305,011 cases of the disease statewide with 8,836 deaths total.
