The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,273 new cases of coronavirus across the state Wednesday along with 35 additional confirmed deaths. One of those deaths according to the IDPH here in Lawrence County-a male in his 70s. The Lawrence County Health Department was notified of 4 county residents testing positive for the disease. They are now under home quarantine with contact tracing underway. LCHD figures show that there have been 261 positive cases in the county with 49 still active. There have been 210 recoveries with 2 still hospitalized and now 3 deaths. Currently, the IDPH is reporting a total of 293,274 cases since the pandemic began with 8,672 deaths.
