The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that routine maintenance work on the Wabash River Bridge at Mt Carmel will begin next week on Monday October 5th. The work will involve washing of the bridge and sealing of the bridge deck. Daily lane closures will occur with traffic controlled by flaggers. The maintenance project is expected to last about one month. Motorists traveling should be aware and expect delays during the work.
