The Illinois Department of Public Health reports that there were 2,257 new confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday including 30 confirmed deaths. One of those deaths in neighboring Crawford County-a female in her 70s. Another in Edgar County-a female in her 80s. The Lawrence County Health Department was notified Thursday of 2 county residents who tested positive-a male in his 30s and a female in her 50s. The cases are not related and both are in home quarantine with contact tracing underway. The two latest cases brings the total of positives in the county to 253 with 51 of those still active. There have been 200 recoveries with 2 people still hospitalized and there have been two deaths. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 281,371 cases and 8,538 deaths in Illinois.
