The Illinois High School Association Board of Directors this week approved expansion of post-season play in boys and girls golf and boys and girls cross country to the sectional level. Both sports were originally scheduled to end their respective seasons after regional play. In golf, the top two teams and top four individuals will advance to the sectional while cross country will advance five teams from each regional to the sectional with no changes to the individual qualifier field. Golf sectionals are scheduled to begin the week of October 12-17 with cross country sectionals October 29-31.
