BRAVES BEAT SALUKIS IN REGIONAL BATTLE

The Parkview Baseball Braves scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning Tuesday  to break open a tight game and went on to defeated the Red Hill Junior High Salukis 9-2 in a semi-final of the Class 2a Regional 11 tournament at Unit 20 Ballpark in Lawrenceville. Emery Ivers went 4 innings with 4 strikeouts for the pitching win for the Braves with Maddux Pargin finishing up in relief. Boston Gray drove in 2 for Parkview. The hosts scored their 9 runs on only 3 hits and made 1 error while the Salukis scored their two runs on only 3 hits and committed 7 costly errors. They also stranded several on base in the loss. Parkview improves to 10-1 and will advance to host Newton (Jasper County) for the championship Saturday at 11 a.m. at Unit 20 Ballpark. The only Braves loss came at Newton late in the season.
