LADY BRAVES HOLD OFF MISS SALUKIS

The Parkview Lady Softball Braves took advantage of three walks and an error in the top of the 7th inning Thursday to score the tiebreaking run and went on to nip the Red Hill Junior High Miss Salukis 4-3 in a Lawrence County battle at Leigh Ann Westall Field in Bridgeport. The win enabled the Lady Braves to sweep the season series after an earlier win in Lawrenceville. The Lady Braves had a 3-0 lead until the bottom of the 6th when the Miss Salukis rallied to tie the game at 3 with the big blow a tying long 2 run homer by Paige Hill. The Lady Braves then scratched across the lead run in the top of the 7th. The Miss Salukis did put the tying run on in the bottom of the inning but could not score and suffered the tough loss. With the win, Parkview finishes the regular season at 8-4 and will see regional action next Thursday. The 3rd seeded Lady Braves have a first round bye and will face Marshall at Marshall. The Miss Salukis will finish their season Friday at West Salem.
