The Wabash County Coroners Office reports that the skeletal remains found in October of 2018 in a farm field north of Mt Carmel have now been identified. They are those of 29 year old Marcus Adams of Mt Carmel. The remains were discovered by a farmer doing mowing work in that area. Coroner Shaun Keepes indicated in a statement that an autopsy was initially performed on the remains to determine a cause of death, but was not definitive. Additional forensic testing will be done in the future to determine the exact cause. The Illinois State Police say that the case is still open and under investigation.
