The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 1,941 new confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state Wednesday with 35 additional confirmed deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department was notified Wednesday of 1 county resident and 16 out of county people who tested positive for the virus. Those outside cases are being transferred to their county of residence while the local resident is under quarantine at home. The local case is not related to the others. Lawrence County is now at 237 positives with 37 of those active and 200 are recovered with 2 deaths and 1 hospitalization. Overall there have been 266,151 cases of the disease across Illinois since the pandemic began with 8,367 deaths.
