The Board of Trustees of Illinois Eastern Community District #529 formally adopted an operating fund budget of approximately $30.2 million for Fiscal year 2021 at it’s monthly meeting Tuesday in Mt Carmel. The action was taken after a public hearing. The budget includes approximately $26.4 million in the Education Fund and approximately $3.7 million in the Operations and Maintenence Fund-the two principal operating funds of the district. The board did approve the over $538,000 bid from Swingler and Son of Teutopolis for the Theatre Renaissance Project at Lincoln Trail College near Robinson. That project involves an over 3,6oo square foot addition to the Zwermann Arts Center which includes a new choral room, practice rooms and office and storage space. Groundbreaking is anticipated in the fall with estimated completion in 9 months.
