The Big Ten Council of Presidents and Chancellors, after adopting significant new medical protocols, Wednesday voted to resume the football season starting the weekend of October 23-24 2020. The decision was made based on new information presented by the Return to Competition Task Force. The conference will require student-athletes, coaches, trainers and other individuals that are on the field for all practices and games to undergo daily antigen testing as part of the health protocol plans. Each conference team would play six games within their division and two cross divisional games through December 12th with a ninth game to be scheduled the following week matching corresponding seeds from each division. The Big Ten football championship game would be played on December 19th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
