The Bridgeport City Council Tuesday night moved to refinance the city water bonds. Mayor Michael Crask told the council that the action would result in significant savings over the remaining term of the bond agreement. The Council will meet again in special session on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall to sign the paperwork. They did approve upon recommendation of the Park Committee raising the rental fees for the Lanterman Park Pavilion, the W.B. Gray Center and the Lions Den. Petitions for anyone wishing to run in the upcoming city municipal election April 6th can be picked up at City Hall and  circulating those petitions can begin on Tuesday September 22nd. The filing of those petitions will be December 14th through the 12st at City Hall. After entering into executive session to deal with personnel, the council emerged and moved to accept the resignation of Kelly Brewer as city water clerk. She had worked for the city for 2 1/2 years and is moving on to a new position. Applications for a Part-Time Water Clerk will be accepted at City hall through 5 p.m. on Friday September 25th.
