LAWRENCE COUNTY ON COVID-19 WARNING LIST

flu-virus

The Illinois Department of Public Health announced late last week that Lawrence County is among 29 counties across the state now considered to be at a warning level for COVID-19. A county enters the warning level when two or more risk indicators that measure the amount of coronavirus spread increase. According to the Lawrence County Department, the county is at warning for new cases, high test positivity (14.4%) and tests performed. The latest LCHD figures indicate there have been 187 positive cases as of Tuesday with 60 of those active. 1 person is hospitalized and there have been no deaths. All active cases are undergoing contact tracing. Local health officials urge taking steps to mitigate the spread of the virus–wearing a mask or face covering, social distancing and frequent hand washing.
