EDGAR COUNTY DEATH

death-investigation

Authorities in Edgar County say that an elderly Paris woman died in her home of carbon monoxide poisoning. The body of 70 year old Marcella Bright was discovered after friends called police for a welfare check after not being able to contact her. Police had to force entry into the home. After an investigation, it was revealed that Bright had returned home the evening before her death and failed to shut off her car parked inside a garage attached to the home and the gas seeped into the residence and killed Bright. The coroners office reported that an autopsy revealed that Bright had fatal carbon monoxide levels above 65% in her system. There were no detectors inside the home.
