MORE COVID-19 POSITIVES IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health has announced that there were 1,707 new confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday with 24 additional confirmed deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department was notified of 5 county residents who tested positive for COVID-19. They are females ages 33, 54 and 77 and males ages 18 and 33. All are under home quarantine and contact tracing is underway. With the 5 new cases, Lawrence County is now over the century mark in positives with 104-43 of those are active, 61 recovered with 1 hospitalization and still no deaths. Cases continue to rise in neighboring counties-5 new in Wabash County with 102 total, 5 new in Richland County with 64 total, 4 new in Crawford County with 81 total and 3 new in Edwards County with 40 total. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 227,334 cases of the disease with 7,977 deaths.
