MORE COVID-19 IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday announced 2,157 new confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state with 37 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department was notified of 6 county residents who tested positive-a female age 20 and males ages 17,23,25,52 and 78. Two of those cases are related. All are now on home quarantine with contact tracing underway. With the new cases, the LCHD reports 99 positives with 38 of those active and 61 recovering. There has been 1 hospitalization and no deaths. The virus continues to spread across southeastern Illinois. Clay County had 8 new cases, Crawford County 3 new cases, Wabash and Richland counties with 1 new case each. Overall, the IDPH  says there have been 225,627 cases of the disease with 7,954 deaths since the pandemic began.
