A new statewide rule requiring bar and restaurant customers to wear a mask while interacting with staff is now in effect in Illinois. Governor J.B. Pritzger announced it Tuesday. The requirement applies when placing an order, when food and drinks are served and when picking up carryout. The mask must cover the nose and the mouth. Patrons must also wear a mask when not eating or drinking inside the eating establishment. The move was made to combat rising COVID-19 numbers and protect workers.
