MORE POSITIVE COVID-19 CASES IN COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 1,893 new cases of coronavirus across the state Sunday with 6 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department on Friday reported 7 positive cases of the disease with 3 of those out-of-county people, 2 more positive cases Saturday and 6 more Sunday.  The latest LCHD figures indicate 81 positive cases total with 22 of those active and 59 recovered. There are now no hospitalizations and no deaths reported. 20 Illinois counties are now at the state warning level for COVID-19 activity with 5 of those-Clay, Franklin, Jefferson, White and Williamson-in southeastern Illinois. Currently there have been 220,178 cases in the state since the pandemic began with 7,880 deaths.
