The Chicago Cubs and St Louis Cardinals split a doubleheader Monday at Wrigley Field to begin a five game series between the two NL rivals. Brad Miller’s two run double in the sixth led the Redbirds to a 3-1 win in Game 1 while David Bote blasted a pinch hit three run homer in the sixth inning enabled the Cubs to rally for a 5-4 win in the nitecap. With the win, the Cubs snapped a 4 game losing skid and improved to 15-7 while the Cardinals fell to 5-5. Game three of the series is a single game under the lights Tuesday with Yu Darvish (3-1) pitching for the Cubs and Daniel Ponce de Leon (0-1) going for the Cards.
