The Lawrenceville City Council met in regular session Thursday night and cleared the path for a business expansion into the Industrial Park located east of the city. They approved a development agreement with and authorized the sale of real estate to Nelson Family Enterprises LLC for the building of a 200 by 60 foot distribution center there. The company is based out of Nebraska with locations in several other states. Mayor Don Wagner had no other details regarding the transaction. The council did approve a resolution of support for application to the state of Illinois for a Community Development Building Grant of over $549,000 for the planned 10th Street  water line improvement project which will benefit over 1,700 city residents. City attorney Mike Neal and Mayor Wagner also updated the council on the United Methodist Village property. It was indicated that a preliminary subdivision platte is being created of the property and is expected to be submitted to the City Planning Commission in the future.
