A Lawrence County man was among three people killed early Thursday in a single vehicle accident in neighboring Crawford County. Illinois State Police say that the fatal mishap occured around 1:20 a.m. on Illinois Route 33 east of North Highway Street in Palestine. A 2019 Dodge being driven by 21 year old Skyler Williams of Lawrenceville was headed east on 33 and failed to negotiate a curve. It then veered off the left side of the road, struck a pole and then came to rest in a tree line. Two rear seat passengers–20 year old Kodey Burns of Robinson and a 13 year old male juvenile from Vincennes were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle upon impact. They along with Williams were pronounced dead at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner. Another passenger, 23 year old Morgan Wells of Loogoottee Indiana was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation with no other details being released.
