4 MORE COVID-19 CASES IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,834 new confirmed cases of coronavirus on Thursday with 24 confirmed deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 4 more cases. A 39 year old male and three females ages 23, 36 and 69 tested positive for COVID-19. They are now under quarantine in their homes with contact tracing underway. The new cases now bring the county total to 60. 14 of those are active with 46 recovering. There were no hospitalizations or deaths. The virus is continuing to spread across southeastern Illinois. 9 new cases were confirmed in neighboring Wabash County to total 53, 4 new cases in Wayne County to total 69, 3 new cases in neighboring Crawford County for a total of 35 and 2 new cases in Clay County for a total of 32. Overall the IDPH says that there have been a total of 200,427 cases and 7,696 deaths in the state since the pandemic began.
