The Illinois State Supreme Court has allowed a stay in the Clay County Court case involving Governor J.B. Pritzger and 109th District State Representative Darren Bailey. The ruling was announced earlier this week. The court also move the Bailey case to Sangamon County Court and consolidated it with similar cases from Edgar, Richland, Clinton, and Bond counties. The stay was allowed in the citation for contempt issued against the governor for issuing emergency orders after Judge Michael McHaney ruled in early July that the orders were improper. The judge had ordered Governor Pritzger to be in court Friday to address the matter, but he will no longer be required to do so.
