TWO MORE COVID-19 CASE IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1, 382 new cases of coronavirus across the state Sunday with 8 people dying from the disease. The Lawrence County Health Department reported two cases over the weekend-a female under the age of 10 Friday and a female age 29 Sunday. Both tested positive and are under home quarantine with contact tracing underway. According to the latest LCHD figures, there have been 50 positive cases with 12 of those still active. 38 people have recovered. There are no current hospitalizations and there have been no deaths. The IDPH says that there have now been 194,080 cases of the disease statewide since the pandemic began with 7,636 deaths. 13 counties are currently at a state warning level for COVID-19 spread with four-Coles, Jackson, Saline and Williamson-in southern Illinois. The IDPH also late last week instituted new rules to help enforce COVID-19 safety guidelines for businesses, schools, and daycare facilities. Those can be seen at the state COVID-19 website.
