The Lawrence County Board Wednesday voted to place a non-binding referendum question on the ballot for the November 3rd election. That question is whether or not the city of Chicago should be seperated from the rest of state of Illinois in the future. The board indicated that the people of the county should be able to make their opinion on the issue known at the ballot box. They also approved transfering funds in the County Clerks office to pay for applications being mailed out for voting by mail in the upcoming election. Approved was a resolution to match federal funding for the improvement of Sand Barrons Lane near St Francisville. Reappointed to a 5 year term on the Lawrence County Housing Authority Board was Gayle Billingsley and appointed to 5 year terms on the Petrolia Water District were trustees Greg Davis, Michael Neal, and Roger Lemeron.
