The Lawrence Unit #20 Board of Education met in special session Thursday at Lawrenceville High School. The session centered on preparations for the re-opening of school in the late summer and fall. Presentations were made regarding the work being done by 2 district committees-one dealing with implementing remote learning if necessary and the other with returning to school with regular in-person instruction. Questions were taken from an audience of teachers, staff and parents regarding various health protocols and guidelines being given by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Public Health. No firm decisions have yet been made and additional work continues on both plans. Superintendent Doug Daugherty indicated that the board will most likely vote on a recommended course of action later this month.
