ILLINOIS CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 869 new cases of coronavirus across the state on Thursday with 36 new confirmed deaths. That now brings the total number of cases to 144,882 since the pandemic began with 6,987 deaths in 101 counties. Lawrence County continues with 7 confirmed cases of the disease with 6 of those recovered. There is 1 case still active in home isolation and there have been no deaths. Neighboring Richland County has it’s fifth case. A male child tested positive and is now in home isolation. Jasper County also Thursday reported it’s 47 case. State and local health officials remind Lawrence County and area residents to continue to practice recommended health and safety guidelines during this Fourth of July holiday weekend to help prevent spread of the disease.
