The Knox County Council met in a special session Tuesday in Vincennes to deal with fiscal matters. They will begin hearings on the formulation of a 2021 budget in mid-September. The hearings will be held from Monday September 13th through Thursday September 18th and will be from noon until 8 p.m. Eastern Time over those days. The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically affected the county financial picture for the future and a number of ideas are being considered including a flat budget with a freeze on line items. No actions were taken at the session except to set the upcoming hearings.
