The Illinois Department of Public Health has announced that there were 593 new cases of coronavirus Thursday across the state with 55 additional deaths. Those totals bring to 134,778 cases of the disease and 6,537 deaths since the pandemic began. Lawrence County remains at 6 positive cases with 5 recoveries and no deaths. Wabash County with an additional cases Thursday is now at 14, Wayne County reported a female in her teens tested positive and is the 11th case in that county. Lawrence County Health Department Administrator Amy Marley reminds residents that despite the low case numbers here, the disease is still around and people need to continue to practice good health and safety habits such as social distancing, washing hands and wearing masks in public.
