Youth summer baseball gets underway Saturday as the Vincennes Cub League begins its 63 season of play at the Red Diamond. The opening ceremonies will be at 11 a.m. Eastern Time with the family of the late Matt Minderman on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and participate in the renaming of the field for Minderman, a long time advocate and promoter of Vincennes youth baseball. Games will begin afterwards. 55 teams will play in 7 leagues on 6 diamonds through July 22nd with the season ending tournament. The public is invited to attend as league officials say they will implement social distancing and health safety practices during play.
