The Lawrenceville City Council met in regular session Thursday night and were informed by Mayor Don Wagner officially that the City Park Pool will not open for the summer of 2020 and the annual Fourth of July Fireworks have been cancelled. Both were for insurance and health guideline issues. The mayor did report that the City and the F.O.P have reached a tenative contract agreement. No other details are being released pending ratification by both sides. The council did approve the annual appropriation ordinance of approximately $6.1 million for 2020-21-a 2.3% increase over the previous ordinance amount. Also approved after discussion was a resolution for the annual Motor Fuel Tax summer street maintenence program for around $200,000. All 15 city streets included this year will be done.
