The Illinois High School Association late Friday released the guidelines for Stage One of its return to play plan to athletic directors. Schools will be permitted to begin voluntary strength and conditioning sessions immediately. Sports-specific drills are not permitted and sessions are limited to three hours per day. Outdoor workouts are encouraged. Schools will still need approval from their districts to conduct workouts. Masks should be worn when social distancing of 6 feet cannot be maintained. Groups of 10 or fewer must be predetermined and students can not switch from one group to another. There can be no interactions between groups of athletes. Coaches must maintain a daily record of students participating and athletes will be monitored at the start of practice with a temperature check. Camps, clinics, and open gyms are prohibited.
