It looks like Lawrence County will join other communities throughout the area in not having summer Little League youth baseball. Published reports indicate that league officials have cancelled the 2020 campaign. The conditions that needed to be met under restrictions and requirements by the state of Illinois under its reopening plan and from Little League International would not allow players and their families with an enjoyable competitive experience. Refunds will be made to anyone who had previously signed up. Other cities and towns have also had to cancel summer youth baseball and softball leagues due to complication from the pandemic.
