INDIANA PRIMARY ELECTION

Voters are heading to the polls Tuesday in Indiana to cast ballots in the primary election after it was postponed by the COVID-19 outbreak. Health concerns prompted Indiana state election officials to delay the primary by four weeks and push mail-in balloting for the first time ever. That led to more than 550,000 voters requesting those type ballots-10 times the number requested for the 2016 primary. Indiana has no challenged races for statewide office, but there are some contested races locally in Knox County. Polls will remain open until 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
