HARTRICH APPOINTED CIRCUIT JUDGE

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier has announced that Matthew Hartrich has been appointed as an At-Large Judge in the Second Judicial Circuit. He was appointed to fill the vacancy created when David Overstreet was elected to the Fifth District Appellate Court in 2018. The appointment will take effect on June 8th and continue through December 7th of this year. The vacancy will then be filled by the winner of the November 2020 general election. Hartrich won a tightly contested Republican nomination in the primary and is currently unopposed in the upcoming election. Hartrich has served as States Attorney for Crawford County since 2012. The 2nd Circuit encompasses 12 counties: Crawford, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne and White.
