A nice crowd was on hand Monday at the Veterans Monument at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery for the V.F.W. Post #2244 annual Memorial Day ceremony as Lawrence County paused to honor it’s war dead. U.S. Marine Major David Blann a Lawrence County native was the guest speaker for the affair. He spoke on his belief in unity in one united nation despite our many differences and through strong service to the country. After the approximately 45 minute ceremony, the V.F.W. Post #2244 Annual Scholarship Award winners were announced-Hannah Orr from Red Hill High School and Macy Bousley from Lawrenceville High School. Each is the recipient of $2000 for their continued education.
