The Red Hill Unit 10 Board of Education Thursday met via videoconference and recieved an end of the year report from district principals and Superintendent Jakie Walker. Walker praised the administration, staff, teachers and students for their perserverence through the 2 months of remote e-learning. He also reported that the district is to recieve around $224,000 in federal CARES money to help with preparations for the coming school term. The board did move to approve a 1 year contract extension with the Red Hill Education Association with teachers recieving a 2% raise on the base and a $20 insurance increase. They also approved the tenative amended 2019-20 budget and set a budget hearing for June 25th at 7:15 p.m. The district handbook for 2020-21 was approved as was the purchase of a district mower for around $7100 from Westons Lawn Equipment. The board also named Russell Adams as the new Red Hill Lady Saluki basketball coach replacing Traci Gray.
