A Red Hill High School student was selected as the winner of 15th District Congressman John Shimkus’s final Art Competition. An oil painting entitled “War Paints” by Lydia Higgins was picked by a panel of judges as the winner. Her painting will now be displayed in Washington D.C. and also in the district offices of the congressman here in Illinois. Shimkus has hosted the art competition among students in his district for years and this is his final one as he retires from Congress at the end of his current term.
