MULTIPLE INJURIES IN VAN ACCIDENT

Illinois State Police report multiple injuries in a mini-van accident Monday evening on Interstate 57 south of the south trilevel at Effingham. Authorities initially report that the van was traveling south when it left the roadway on the right shoulder of a curve and then rolled over before coming to rest upright on its wheels.  There were 10 people inside ranging in age from children up to adults. One 7 year old child was airfifted from the scene to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana and another occupant was initially taken by ambulance to St Anthony Hospital in Effingham and later lifeflighted to Carle. There were other various injuries reported. Authorities investigating have issued citiations but say additional charges could be pending.
