The National Weather Service in Lincoln Illinois issued a tornado warning late Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening for Lawrence County. The warning sirens sounded around 6 p.m. Central Time when the NWS detected tornadic rotation inside a cluster of thunderstorms that moved across areas of northern Lawrence County north of Lawrenceville. The storms were part of a long storm front that rumbled through southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana.
