BI-STATE AUTHORITY MEETS

The Bi-State Authority which governs the Mid-American Air Center northeast of Lawrenceville met via tele-conference Wednesday afternoon. They gave permission to airport manager Kurt Schwartz to proceed with making preparations for soliciting bids to construct a new Ultra-light Hanger. The original hanger was almost completely destroyed by high straight line winds during a severe storm early in March. Charles Gillespie will be leaving the board. His resignation will be effective July 1st. He has served on the authority board for 7 years as a representative of the city of Lawrenceville. Mayor Don Wagner is expected to formally announce his replacement at the city council meeting Thursday evening. The authority referred personnel raises to committee for study and recommendations in June.
