Three existing rules were updated last month by the National Federation of State High School Associations Basketball Rules Committee at its annual meeting. The updates for 2020-21 concern declaring a forfeit of a game, no officials warning prior to a technical foul and the time interval to replace a disqualified or injured player during a game. A complete listing of the changes are available on the NHFS.org website. One rules change that did not recieve approval was for mandating a national or state shot clock rule. The committee did however say they will continue to explore the shot clock issue in the future.
